We have enjoyed some input from our fans on facebook about this piece and today some lovely feedback from customers in our shop (Seba Dizajn).
There is something amazing about seeing pieces of jewellery created from scratch. When we collected the pieces of turquoise in Nepal I had no idea what Doka would create with them and could not have pictured anything as beautiful as this.

Wow this jewellery is just beautiful. It looks similar to some Maltese jewellery that my aunty bought me. Are the techniques the same? I just love the fine craftsmanship and how delicate and beautiful it looks. Can’t wait to see more photos.
Hi Madeleine, thanks for your nice compliments on the jewellery. Malta also has a filigree heritage and there will be a lot of similarities, I understand that each region develops it’s own style and techniques vary from region to region as well. This would be an interesting thing for me to research during the winter. What did your Aunt buy for you in Malta?
That would certainly be an interesting post. Look forward to it. A few years ago she bought me a beautiful gold emerald necklace hanger and then I got an amazing silver bracelet as a wedding gift. I love how the jewellery looks like spun silver lace. My aunty told me that sadly this is a dying art as not many people can do this anymore. So glad that you guys are keeping this beautiful art alive.
Your jewellery sounds lovely! I also think the filigree work is like lace and it is as intricate when it is being made too, watching tiny silver threads being worked into beautiful pieces of jewellery is still a marvelous exprerience for me and it has been great to be able to share it with visitors to our shop here in Korcula. Your aunt is right, there are a lot less people now who have the time and patience to work the very fine filigree. I think it is great that my husband choose to carry on with the families traditional work and love sharing it with a wider audience.
